These Witches Scales were used as follows: the accused was seated on one side with a Bible placed on the other side, if the Bible was heavier you were innocent, if not you were a witch and executed. It should be noted that the 53 torture devices and implements on show were collected from Italy and Spain and are part of a private collection.
