Schooner at this time used for ferrying supplies between Malta GC and Gozo. Mr Dunstan Sammut of Malta GC writes "With Reference to the Marie Georgette picture you may wish to know that the boat in question at the time was not used as a fishing boat but as a supplies boat between Malta and Gozo. For this reason it is loaded to that extreme. The Schooner pictured was used in that manner throughout WW2 and was documented as attacked by Italian airplanes during one of these trips. The captain Theuma if I recall the name from an old news paper article was killed during this attack and the boat caught fire and drifted ashore but survived." Thank you Dunstan for the information.
